How would you describe your appearance when you attended the interview?
I just turned up - appearances shouldn't matter, it's what I can do that counts
I made sure I looked smart
I turned up in a suit - it's important to look professional
I asked about the dress code and turned up in appropriate attire

How much did you research your organisation?
None - it's the skills for the job that's important
I had intended to look them up on the web, but I ran out of time
I had phoned to find out what information was available and looked up their website
As well as researching public info, I used my networks to find out current issues affecting the organisation

How would you describe your preparation for the interview?
I don't believe in too much preparation, I'd rather go with the flow
I'd read all the information they’d given me and was clear about the job I was applying for
I was confident about the information in my CV and covering letter. I had prepared eg.s to illustrate my skills
I'd anticipated possible questions and prepared some good eg.s to respond to their likely concerns

How would you describe your demeanour when they interviewed you?
Nervous – it's been a while since I've been interviewed
Unsure – I'd prepared appropriately, but who knows what they were really looking for?
Confident – I had done all the preparation I could think of
Relaxed – I felt well prepared and interested to meet my interviewers

How well do you think you were able to demonstrate your "fit" for the job?
The interview helped demonstrate that I would not be right for the job or the job right for me.
I'm not sure – some of the questions I thought I did myself justice. But at times I couldn't think of a response quickly.
I think I did a good job of ensuring they understood what I had to offer and where I had gaps how I could transfer my learning.
We had a good discussion – I integrated my past experience and also offered alternative perspectives on how best to add value.

What proportion of the questions asked did you feel "caught you off guard"?
All of them – I really wasn't sure what they were looking for
Some but not the majority – I winged it or waffled those I wasn't 100% sure
None of them, I gave confident answers even where they asked "obscure" questions
Very few – where I was not sure what they were looking for I asked for further clarification

What kind of questions did you ask them?
I didn't need to – they had covered off all the essential information
I enquired about the pay and benefits package
I'd prepared some questions to ensure I properly understood the role and that I would get the right support to do it well
I'd prepared some questions to understand the business context that would impact on the ability to deliver in the role
